Well, It's hard to believe it's been a week. Long time to recover. I still have a pain in my side from slip-n-slide.

Anyway, much thanks to everyone who helped out at camp. God used you in so many ways, you will never know them all.

As this year ends, I would like to keep this blog open for future topics and ideas for JTC 2007. If you have any feedback from this year please email me or post your thoughts here.

BTW, I lost the booklet with names of the kids who were baptized... Does anyone else have them?

I just found out that staff will need to pay for their canteen. So if you want any treats at break time, bring some cash. Also, I you need a soda during the week, be advised, there's no soda at camp. You must bring your own and store it yourself.

The booklet is done! But it's not put together. I'll save that for Saturday.

Once more, I want everyone to be thinking about their buddybunch groups. In the past, I have seen leaders plan for a whole week and use all their ideas on the first day.

I have daily quiet times with questions and Bible verses that follow the video, that should help.

BIG BLOW! Bryce Kennedy, long time servant, called to let me know he will not be able to make it out to camp this next week. This is big... As Bryce has only missed one year of camp since 3rd grade.

However, God is Great! Vern Meaders will be taking on campfire which is the major area Bryce served.

This does knock us down one male staffer, however, God is in control.

Any more idea's for buddy bunch groups? Remember to post them.
Here's another idea I had... Give everyone in your group a nickname after a candy bar. "Snickers" "Reeses" "Big Chunk" (uh, don't use this one for a girl.)

UPDATE!
To answer a few calls and emails... Staff should "Arrive at camp on Saturday the 15th around 6:00 PM." You should have already had dinner as this may not be available at the camp.

Second, We have 25 boys and 26 girls pre-registered. These are good numbers for pre-registration. I expect around 120-30 campers.

Anyone want to lead craft time? I have the supplies, I just need someone who wants to spend some time in the main lodge with a handful of kids.

It looks like we will have 10 or 12 buddy bunch small groups. That means some groups will have 3 staff and others 2.

Things to do in buddy bunch groups.

-Get to know everyones name
-Pray
-Share scripture
-Review in detail the Quiet Time lessons in the camp book
-Team builder games
-Do a craft together
-Take a hike
-Journal
-blow bubbles (bring your own bubbles)
-Find something at the dollar store to share with your group to make them special
-Come up with a group name and write a song about it for camp fire
-think of, practice and performe a Bible skit for campfire

Any other ideas that have worked, post them for others to see.

Looks like all the teaching spots are filled now. Thank you all. As far as outlines or lesson plans, you all are free to use any format you feel comfortable with. I have no lesson plans unless you need one... If you do need an outline or a lesson plan, email me ASAP. Please use the scripture provided to launch from.

If you need a projector, computer or any other media item, let me know.

I should have a schedule of days events by the end of next week.

Luke Shaffer is our worship leader... He is gathering songs for our camp booklet. If you would like to help out in a worship time, contact Luke or send me an email and I'll set you up with him.

(LUKE! I need those songs for the camp book!)

Bryce Kennedy will be heading up Camp Fire... I sent him a list of emails so he could contact you. If you haven't heard from Bryce, chances are he doesn't have your email address. Please email me and I'll connect you.

LIFE GUARDS! Are there any females who would like to lead this area? You must be able to swim and you must sit and watch the ladies swim. Email me. Bryce Kennedy has filled this spot for the guys.

Erik and I are working on afternoon activities. If you have any ideas for large group games that you would like to share leave a post.

One last thing, please say a prayer for the students who will be attending camp when you are done reading this. I want to remind everyone... God has brought this staff together. Each of you has a specific place at camp this year. Be on guard.
